About
The viewer encounters a city that seems to exist between earth and sky. At the centre of the composition rises a luminous human-like figure, recalling at once a tree, a pillar of light, and a spiritual presence. It becomes the conceptual axis of the painting, uniting the fragmented architecture into a single visual space.
The title directs the viewer not toward a specific character but toward the idea of invisible guardianship accompanying both humanity and the city through times of uncertainty and destruction. The surrounding architecture appears fragile, emerging from memory itself, while the central vertical figure remains stable and enduring.
The painting is constructed through the interaction of dense texture, luminous passages, and deep browns, blues, and warm earth tones. As a result, the work transcends the genre of cityscape and becomes a meditation on spiritual presence within an ever-changing world.
