Vincent Vee
Bio
Vincent Vee is a British contemporary visual artist and filmmaker whose work collides two worlds that rarely meet on the same canvas: the high-voltage energy of Pop and Street Art, and the quiet, gold-lit reverence of Eastern European iconography.
Born with a creative lineage rooted in the cultural landscape of southeast Poland, Vincent’s earliest fascination was with ancient painted wooden churches—a spiritual heartbeat that still pulses beneath even his most urban pieces.
Educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the prestigious Camerimage Film School, his masterly background in painting, sculpture, and cinematography gives his canvases an unmistakable cinematic sense of light, shadow, and narrative depth.
In 2026, his daring style was celebrated by ELLE Gourmet as "irreverent works defining modern luxury aesthetics," following his prestigious permanent residency at Granduke in Madrid’s exclusive Salamanca district. Vincent’s pieces are highly sought after by private investors and collectors worldwide, from the UK and Europe to the USA and Australia.
Statement
"The holiness, the unholiness, the sin, another universe, the soul. In my paintings, I ask myself: who are you? Who am I?"
My work explores the intersection of contemporary culture, urban grit, and the human soul. By treating modern cultural icons through the traditional structural techniques of sacred art, I look past the commercial glamour to capture the deeper essence of the subject—the soul behind the icon. To achieve this, my creative process relies on a rich, multi-layered physical and conceptual framework. I build heavy, tactile surfaces using intricate hand-cut stencils, structural modelling paste, acrylics, and spray paint, juxtaposing the raw energy of the street with the reflective, divine glow of hand-applied gold leaf.
For my non-portrait and more conceptual bodies of work, this methodology evolves into a sophisticated dialogue between mediums. Here, I integrate my own professional photography, printing and manually transferring the imagery directly onto the canvas. Because I execute these transfers at various, unpredictable stages of the painting's development, the photographic image becomes structurally woven into the piece—bleeding into and merging fluidly with subsequent layers of raw acrylic colour.
Finally, these compositions are completed through the addition of bold typography, featuring text drawn directly from my own personal poetry. By binding word, texture, and image together, every canvas becomes a multi-dimensional mirror, inviting the viewer into a deep conversation about emotion, transcendence, and identity in the modern world.
