About

The Genius of Leonardo is a philosophical symbolic composition dedicated to the universal phenomenon of human genius, embodied through the figure of Leonardo da Vinci. Rather than presenting a traditional historical portrait, the artist transforms Leonardo into a timeless symbol of intellectual curiosity, creative imagination, and humanity's enduring pursuit of knowledge.

The central portrait is surrounded by an intricate network of symbolic forms in which geometric structures, an all-seeing eye, celestial spheres, architectural elements, and the human figure merge into a unified visual language. Together these motifs express the inseparable relationship between art, science, engineering, philosophy, and observation, reflecting Leonardo's vision of knowledge as an interconnected whole. A human skull positioned in the lower section of the composition introduces the theme of mortality, contrasting the finite nature of human life with the lasting influence of ideas and discovery. Executed in mixed media on paper, the work presents Leonardo not merely as one of history's greatest minds, but as a universal symbol of creative inquiry, demonstrating that true genius is born through continuous observation, imagination, and an unwavering desire to understand the hidden order of the world.
