This work forms part of an ongoing body of work that applies the logic of sampling and remix, more commonly associated with music, to the visual realm.
Constructed from found objects for Rome Art Week 2018, the work brings together references associated with both classical and vernacular culture, questioning fixed distinctions between cultural hierarchies and forms of value.
Drawing upon the readymade tradition and practices derived from DJ culture, the work proposes the artwork as a provisional assemblage in which historical references and contemporary material culture are continually sampled and reconfigured.
