About

Pastel No.4 continues Bobby Forsythe’s exploration of colour and material through the intimate format of her Pastel Series. Resin and acrylic provide the foundation for a vibrant composition in which colour becomes both the visual focus and the emotional language of the work. The small dimensions give the piece a delicate presence while retaining the lively character associated with the series.

Forsythe developed these works through an experimental period in her practice, using the series to celebrate colour and the palette she has naturally gravitated towards. Her practice does not depend upon a single signature colour, instead allowing vibrancy to remain a consistent and recognizable thread. This freedom gives the Pastel works an uplifting quality while demonstrating her continuing interest in the expressive possibilities of resin.

Pastel No.4 translates that sense of joy into a concise contemporary artwork that can be appreciated at close range. Its combination of colour, surface and form creates a work that feels both playful and considered. As part of a collectible series, it offers an engaging insight into Forsythe’s material-led approach and her ability to create emotional resonance through colour.
