About

Pastel No.3 forms part of Bobby Forsythe’s Pastel Series, which emerged from an experimental stage in her practice as a celebration of colour, vibrancy and the palette she has naturally gravitated towards. Created using resin and acrylic, the work brings together material and colour in a compact contemporary composition. Despite its small scale, the piece carries a lively visual presence, balancing delicacy with an uplifting sense of energy.

While Forsythe does not identify one defining signature colour, vibrancy remains a constant thread throughout her work. In the Pastel Series, colour and form become expressive elements, conveying a sense of joy and lightness through carefully considered material combinations. The resin surface adds to the work’s visual appeal, inviting appreciation of the relationship between colour, texture and form.

Pastel No.3 embodies Forsythe’s intention to create miniature expressions of happiness captured through colour and form. Its intimate proportions give the work a delicate yet distinctive presence, while its vibrant character brings an optimistic energy to the viewing experience. For collectors, it offers a charming example of Forsythe’s experimental resin practice and her ability to translate colour into an engaging contemporary artwork.
