Collection: Luca Domiro
Luca Domiro is a contemporary artist of Italian heritage, born and raised in South Africa and now based near the New Forest in the United Kingdom. Born in 1979, Luca developed a passion for painting during his early teens, beginning his artistic journey at the age of thirteen. After spending more than twenty years in the corporate world, Luca returned to his creative practice to pursue the artistic passion that had remained with him throughout his life. His work explores the relationship between abstraction and realism, combining recognisable subjects with expressive colour, layered marks and dynamic textures. Working primarily with acrylics, he creates wildlife portraits, abstract landscapes and seascapes that capture the energy and emotional character of the natural world. Animals often serve as more than subjects in his work, becoming reflections of resilience, intuition, freedom and inner strength. His paintings draw on personal experience, memories, travel and a lifelong connection to nature. Colour plays an important role in his visual language, helping to communicate atmosphere, movement and emotion. Through the balance of figurative detail and abstraction, Luca encourages viewers to look beyond the immediate subject and discover their own personal associations. His work frequently explores themes of identity, belonging, memory and renewal, inviting moments of reflection and connection. Nature remains a central source of inspiration, whether expressed through the watchful presence of an owl, the independence of a fox or the untamed energy of a tiger. Luca's paintings have reached collectors internationally, with works collected across the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States and Canada. His work has also been featured in interior and lifestyle publications, including ELLE Decoration and House & Garden, and selected pieces have appeared in John Lewis & Partners stores. Through his art, Luca seeks to create more than a visual focal point, offering collectors a lasting reminder of nature's beauty and the emotional connections it can inspire.
